Broken?

A picture framed by a JCB digger’s broken windscreen. The diggers are used for pushing the fishing boats into the sea at Dungeness. In the background are both the old and new lighthouses as well as the Dungeness Nuclear power station. I have mixed views on this image, so I am not entirely sure it will make the final selection of images that will be on display at this year’s London photo exhibition at Lauderdale House. Let me know what you think?

Idle

Idle. A Dungeness fisherman's boat and a winch lying redundant on the beach. Fishermen in this area can no longer make a decent living, as rising sea temperatures have played havoc with the cod that would normally be caught during this time of the year. This is another of my favourite images for my London exhibition next year.

Going Fishing.

Going Fishing. A Dungeness fisherman's boat about to be launched into the sea. I am continuing to develop my images on life in this area. It’s an area that has changed significantly as a result of gentrification. Fishermen in this area can no longer make a decent living, as rising sea temperatures have played havoc with the cod that would normally be caught during this time of the year. I will be selecting some of my Dungeness images for my London exhibition next year and this one really captures the hard work that is required to get the boat into the sea.
